frankfurter type sausages
- onions (2)
- sauerkraut (0.5)
- ketchup
4 tablespoons
- mustard
4 tablespoons
- table salt
- pepper
- sugar
1 teaspoon
- small breads (4)
Preparation
- Prepare the ingredients: Finely slice the red onion.
- In a frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and fry for a few minutes until translucent.
- Add the cooked sauerkraut to the pan with the onion. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of sugar to balance the acidity of the sauerkraut. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for about 5 minutes to warm the sauerkraut and allow it to infuse the flavors.
- Meanwhile, heat the sausages in a pan of boiling water for about 5 minutes, or until heated through.
- Heat the hot dog buns in the oven or toaster until lightly browned and hot.
- Assemble the hot dogs: Place a hot sausage in each hot dog bun. Add a tablespoon of mustard to each sausage, followed by a tablespoon of ketchup.
- Add a generous portion of cooked sauerkraut to each hot dog.
- Serve the hot dogs hot and enjoy them with pleasure! You can accompany them with chips, fries or salad, whatever you wish.
